Celtic’s reserve side continued their 100% record in 2019 with a 4-0 win over Partick Thistle to reach the final of the Glasgow Cup.

After a few years as an u-17 competition the old trophy is now being played for by u-20 teams giving Jack Aitchison the chance to pick up his fourth winners medal after successes in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Thistle found themselves behind in the first minute when Kerr McInroy opened the scoring with Armstrong Oko-Flex and Wallace Duffy, with his second goal in a week, adding to the scoring before the half hour mark.

Celtic dominated throughout but only had a goal from Aitchison to show for their efforts after the break.

With Aitchison, McInroy, Robbie Deas, Daniel Church, Ewan Henderson and Ryan Mullen on Scotland international duty at the u-19 European Championship qualifiers there will be no Reserve League fixtures over the next fortnight.

CELTIC: Mullen; Duffy, Deas, Welsh, Church, McInroy, Coffey (Robertson 76), McLaughlin (Diver), Dembele (Caffrey 80), Oko-Flex (Savoury 80), Aitchison
Subs: Hughes, McQueen, Kennedy
