Within hours of Roberto Martinez’s agent ruling out a move to Celtic the agent for Andre Villas-Boas has did likewise.

It always seemed far fetched that two manager’s used to the salaries and spending power that comes as second nature in England would be interested in working in the SPFL.

According to The Sun:

But representative Jean-Paul Lares insists the Portuguese won’t be coaching in Scotland any time soon.

He said: “André will not be working in Scotland in the foreseeable future and will not be available for comment.”

The speculation, bookies odds and media speculation won’t have concerned Neil Lennon who is busy preparing the Celtic squad for Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Aberdeen at Hampden.

Since taking on the role of caretaker the former Hibs boss has been used to speculation about who will take over on a permanent basis but is in pole position to get the job.

A win over Aberdeen will ensure that he remains in charge until May 25 with just seven weeks to go until the first competitive match of next season.

Lennon has already discussed player recruitment for next season, as the man in possession it seems certain that it is his job to lose.
