Nick Walsh will referee Sunday’s match between Hibs and Celtic- seven days after ordering Derek McInnes to the stand during the Scottish Cup semi-final between Aberdeen and Celtic.

Midway through the second half the Aberdeen boss made a gesture that Craig Thomson was informed about with McInnes ordered from the technical area.

The last Celtic match that Walsh was in charge of was the 5-0 home win over St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup, on March 29 he was in charge as Hibs won 2-1 away to Livingston.

While Celtic look to close in on winning the title Hibs are battling for an unlikely spot in the Europa League through finishing in fourth place in the SPFL while hoping that Sunday’s visitors win the Scottish Cup.

Hibs are currently sitting in fifth place, six points behind Aberdeen and Kilmarnock and needing to win all of their post split fixtures to finish in fourth place.

Saturday’s match at Tynecastle will be refereed by John Beaton, his first match of 2019 involving Steven Gerrard’s club, Willie Collum will be on duty at Saturday’s match between Livingston and St Mirren.
