Jozo Simunovic has handed his match winning jersey from Celtic’s win over Kilmarnock to the McNeill family.

With the game goal-less the defender moved forward for a corner, Callum McGregor arched the ball deep into the penalty box with Simunovic heading low and powerfully into the net from 12 yards out.

As the ball crossed the line 67 minutes was on the clock with the match-winner clearly emotional at the magnitude of his goal.

An hour before the kick off the McNeill family was at the bottom of the Celtic Way where tributes have gathered for the club’s greatest ever captain.

Neil Lennon and Scott Brown led the Celtic first team in paying their respects with John Clark, Jim Craig, Bertie Auld, Charlie Gallacher and John Fallon in attendance.

Before the match McNeill’s life was celebrated but the greatest tribute of the day came after 67 minutes when Simunovic headed home the goal that takes Celtic to one point away from clinching their eighth successive title.
