Neil Lennon has brushed aside the ‘tangible reach’ sales pitch used by Dave King that his club is about to become the dominant force in Scottish football.

It seems that the more success Celtic enjoy the more desperate things become at Ibrox as that trophies and stats build up in the east end.

Celtic are within tangible reach of two more trophies to complete a Treble Treble but according to a letter sent out to Ibrox season tickets their club is poised to become the dominant force.

Season ticket sales are highly important to Celtic but they tend to concentrate on matters of reality rather than piling more pressure on the management team and players.

Lennon has seen Celtic at close quarters as player and manager and is quite clear about the style of leadership he prefers to work under.

“I can only speak on behalf of Celtic and since 2000 our record domestically has been pretty good,” the hoops caretaker boss told the club’s media conference.

“We have good people, good recruitment and a class board who keep their powder dry. We don’t talk ourselves up, we just try and maintain our standards over the past few years or so.

“It’s fantastic to have that support. I’ve worked with high-class people whether in business or football.

“I’ve been very fortunate and they give you great advice if and when it’s needed.”

Lennon returns to Hibs on Sunday looking for Celtic to become the first club to inflict an SPFL defeat on new boss Paul Heckingbottom.
