The brilliant Scott Brown rumour about Andy Halliday

Almost a week after the final whistle there is little sign of any dust settling down following Celtic’s decisive victory.

While one side of the city fumes with anger the other has reacted with humour, you could say it is one of the many characteristics that differentiate between the two city clubs.

In the mainstream one name dominates and it’s not Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Andy Halliday or the rookie manager whose first season has been marked by a trail of ill-discipline.

Yip, the guy that was elbowed, punched then confronted by half a dozen opponents at the final whistle- Scott Brown.

Whether there is any truth in the above rumour is open to debate but as he prepares to collect his NINTH league winners medal Brown’s place in Celtic’s history and supporter folklore is assured.

In thirty years time he’ll be like Bertie Auld, recalling tales of the good old days to supporters who weren’t born when he was pulling his tricks.

For Halliday, who knows what his future will hold. Mark Warburton snapped him up on a four year contract extension after the Petrofac Cup win over Peterhead in 2016, there has been no word of another deal with just 14 months left to run on his current deal.
