Manny Perez got the better of fellow Celts Mark Hill and Andrew Gutman when North Carolina beat Charlotte Indendence 3-0 in the USL Championship.

Perez and Gutman had trials with Celtic during the winter before returning to the USA where they are on loan in the second tier of the national set up. Hill moved on loan in March with Charlotte Independence managed by former Celtic coach Jim McGuiness.

The away win put North Carolina into fifth place, three points behind leaders Saint Louis with a game less played.

Charlotte are having less fun with just four points from seven matches to leave them third from bottom. Gutman has played in all seven matches with Hill starting in six games after spending time out on loan with Forfar earlier in the season.

It’s unclear where the two American’s will fit in at Celtic next season with Gutman unable to get a work permit to play in Scotland when he applied in January.
