Celtic lost out to a double from Glenn Middleton in today’s Reserve League Glasgow derby at Firhill.

The former Norwich winger scored in the 52nd and 90th minutes to edge the Ibrox side one goal ahead of Celtic with both club’s having two matches left to play in the 17 team league.

It was the first defeat of 2019 for Tommy McIntyre’s side who must now look to win their two remaining matches against Motherwell and St Johnstone while keeping an eye on results from elsewhere.

Next Monday Celtic face Motherwell at Stirling Albion’s Forthbank Stadium with a date still to be fixed for the remaining fixture against St Johnstone.

Details of today’s match have been scarce with both teams agreeing to play behind closed doors after trouble at previous under-age fixtures.

SUBS: Mazis, Willison, Savoury, Robertson
