Robbie Deas was the last gasp hero as Celtic won the Glasgow Cup in dramatic fashion with a 3-2 win over their Ibrox rivals.

First half goals from Jack Aitchison and Mikey Johnston were cancelled out by a double from Glenn Middleton before Deas netted with a glorious strike in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

Celtic impressed from the start despite some harsh treatment being dished out to Karamoko Dembele.

The opening goal was delayed until the 19th minute when Aitchison collected the ball inside the penalty area, took two touches then drilled a low shot into the net.

Graeme Murty’s lot picked up two bookings before the hoops doubled their lead with a brilliantly taken free kick from Johnston that Kieran Wright never got close to.

Aitchison and Johnston were injured early in the second half, Middleton scored twice but right at the death Deas netted from a Ewan Henderson free kick to earn the hoops a dramatic victory.

CELTIC: Mullen, Duffy (McLaughlin), Deas, Welsh, Church; Dembele (Savoury) , Coffey, Henderson, Oko Flex; Johnston (Robertson), Aitchison (Harper)
