Any visitors to Glasgow yesterday would have been forgiven for thinking that it was a one club city.

Despite the autumnal weather the city centre was distinctly Green and White as Celtic fans celebrated something that no other Scottish club has ever got near to. A Treble Treble.

Plans for an open top bus parade along the Gallowgate proved to be wildly optimistic as thousands of supporters thronged that area of the city bringing traffic to a standstill.

News that the victory parade had been cancelled didn’t put a dampener on the celebrations as supporters created their own entertainment.

The fans policed themselves as they revelled in a third successive Treble, something that had only been achieved three times in the previous 70 years.

Celtic have won the Scottish Cup more often than any other club but yesterday’s success and celebrations ensure that every victory is appreciated as much as ever.
