Emilio Izaguirre has been strangely posted missing from Celtic’s trophy lifting celebrations over the last week.

The Honduran returned to the club in August, played in 19 more matches than Marvin Compper but was absent from Hampden yesterday as Celtic completed their Treble Treble.

Izaguirre was in the side that beat Aberdeen to lift the Betfred Cup in 2016 as Brendan Rodgers earned his first trophy- the 100th in Celtic’s history.

After a stint in Saudi Arabia he returned to the club in August, filling in regularly along-with Jonny Hayes when Kieran Tierney was out injured.

It was recently reported that Celtic had offered Izaguirre a new one year contract but his absence from the SPFL and Scottish Cup celebrations suggest that he has cut his playing ties with the club.

With 14 winners medals in his collection, having played in seven SPFL title winning seasons, Izaguirre is one of the most decorated and successful players in Celtic’s history.
