Karamoko Dembele has taken to Instagram to share the joy of his first team debut.
Over the last 24 hours social media has been flooded by tributes to the 16-year-old who appeared for the second half of Celtic’s 2-1 win over Hearts.
No young player has ever been as hyped up but the player has said very little as he awaited the moment when he played his first top team match.
In October 2016 the then 13-year-old made a 10 minute appearance in a Development League win over Hearts and has barely been out of the headlines since.
At international level Scotland have been fighting a losing battle with the kid with the strong Glasgow accent captaining England at u-16 level and one of the brightest young talents in the English pipeline.
Celtic supporters have loved every snipped and update, especially when he signed a professional contract before Christmas. The next chapter of the Dembele story is whether he will be among the substitutes for Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final against Hearts at Hampden.
