Lee Congerton has left Celtic cutting the final ties with the Brendan Rodgers regime.

The grandly titled Head of Recruitment joined Celtic in March 2017 with that area the most criticised of Rodgers’ time at the club.

Although it was technically before his arrival Eboue Kouassi was believed to be recommended by Congleton in January 2017.

In the summer of that year Olivier Ntcham and Odsonne Edouard were signed but from then on things went downwards with Scott Bain rescuing the day in January 2018 after Charly Musonda, Jack Hendry and Marvin Compper.

The scrutiny intensified after that with the summer of 2018 throwing up the first signs of a rift between the board and the manager.

After securing Edouard on a permanent deal things stalled incredibly with only Emilio Izaguirre, Youssouf Mulumbu and Filip Benkovic joining the club with those deals completed after the exit from the Champions League qualifiers.

Recently Neil Lennon did speak about discussing transfer targets with Congerton but with the announcement this morning those ties are cut with Leicester expected to be his next stop.
