The odds on Davie Moyes becoming the next Celtic manager are continuing to come down with the former Manchester United boss ahead of Rafa Beitez in the betting.

Moyes is now priced by most firms at 6/4 to take over from Brendan Rodgers with Ladbrokes, who had Neil Lennon shorter than Benitez yesterday, priced at 2/1 with Moyes their 6/4 favourite.

The bookies odds is a mix of speculation and reflection on what bets are being placed with nothing coming out of Celtic Park to give an indication of what direction the club are looking in.

A number of ‘candidates’ have appeared in the betting over recent weeks but Lennon, Moyes and Benitez have constantly been among the favourites for the job.

The current caretaker will have to face the media before and after Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final against Hearts, after that the spotlight is on the boardroom for an announcement about the manager.

The next significant dates after Saturday are June 18 when the draw is made for the Champions League, June 26 for the first pre season game away to Pinkfeld with the first round first leg tie for the Champions League being played on July 9 or 10.
