Scott Bain has delivered the most damning verdict on the cross city celebrations at Ibrox.

The keeper is on course for a clean sweep of domestic honours in his first full season at Celtic as Neil Lennon’s side stand on the brink of history.

No team had ever won back-to-back trebles until last year, next Saturday a win over Hearts at Hampden will raise the bar even higher by delivering a treble treble.

That prospect has apparently been overshadowed by the result of last week’s Glasgow derby which to some ‘experts’ has wiped out the previous 36 rounds of fixtures that delivered title number eight to the green half of the city.

Bain has played a massive role in winning this season’s title and has looked on in amazement at the straw clutching exercise across the city.

Covering yesterday’s media conference The Sun reports:

You’ve got a team celebrating winning a game against you like they’d won the league, which speaks volumes for our team.

It’s perspectives. We’d already won the league and we’re going into the Scottish Cup final.

We weren’t great on the day and they deserved to win. They also have the right to celebrate with their fans.

But it speaks volumes for our team that that’s a team that used to celebrate winning trophies and now are celebrating winning matches against us.

Bain has been an ever present in the Celtic side during 2019 conceding just five goals in domestic matches.
