Who on earth is managing news at Celtic Park?
Within an hour of Scott Brown lifting the Scottish Cup Peter Lawwell has announced that Neil Lennon has been OFFERED the job of becoming permanent manager.
Offered, not accepted, no mention on the club website at 6.15pm tonight when I got home from Hampden.
Even the most amateur PR observer would have left the team to enjoy 24 hours or even 48 to bask in a Treble Treble success at Hampden today
???? Chief Executive, Peter Lawwell: “Neil stepped up to the plate when we needed him. He’s a true Celtic man who knows the club and the city. He’s a winner with a fantastic eye for a player. I’m delighted to announce he’s been offered the job.” #TrebleTreble

Nothing on the club website
As that success dies down a little a Sunday evening or Monday morning announcement that Lennon WAS the permanent manager would have kept the club in the news spotlight.
Instantly beating Hearts to win the Treble has been sidelined. Odsonne Edouard’s double is a footnote.
The small matter of Lennon not having accepted the offer also creates a new story, in his after match interviews on the pitch there was no hint of an announcement minutes away.
News management can be a sinister business, in this instance it has been absolute amateur hour with a historic club achievement instantly superseded.
