Moussa Dembele has posted a touching tribute to former Celtic striker Harry Hood who died this morning following a battle with cancer.

After scoring a derby day hat-trick in 2016 the young French striker was introduced to Hood who did likewise in the early seventies during a League Cup semi-final.

Jock Stein signed the former Clyde forward from Sunderland in 1969 with 123 goals in 310 appearances making a significant contribution to a golden era for the club. His time at Celtic bridged the handover from the Lisbon Lions to the Quality Street Kids of Danny McGrain, Kenny Dalglish, Davie Hay and Lou Macari.

During his days at Shawfield he did enough to earn a place in Clyde’s Hall of Fame with 96 goals during the club’s last golden phase in the game.

Rather than move into coaching or media work when his playing career ended Hood set up a number of business ventures with Angels of Uddingston becoming one of the most popular Pub/Restaurants in Lanarkshire.
