Celtic fans have demanded that Neil Lennon is given the funds to deliver nine and 10 in a row after being offered the job as permanent manager.
Within an hour of Scott Brown lifting the Scottish Cup, with no statement ready for the club website, Peter Lawwell announced that the manager’s job had been offered to the Irishman.
The news seemed to take everyone by surprise, Lawwell made the announcement at an unexpected media conference at Hampden while captain Scott Brown found out the news through twitter in the dressing room.
Lennon’s time as caretaker has split the Celtic support with the performances flat despite delivering on results.
It’s not by accident that there was dramatic late wins over Hearts, Dundee, the club at Ibrox and today’s Scottish Cup Final.
Should he accept the job Lennon has to get hands on very quickly. On June 18 Celtic will find out their first round Champions League opponents, on June 26 they play their first pre-season match with the first competitive game on July 9/10.
Around six first team players are needed with as many as a dozen of the current squad moving on.
???? Chief Executive, Peter Lawwell: “Neil stepped up to the plate when we needed him. He’s a true Celtic man who knows the club and the city. He’s a winner with a fantastic eye for a player. I’m delighted to announce he’s been offered the job.” #TrebleTreble

Reward him for his loyalty then by giving him the money to build a team worthy of competing in Europe. Don’t hang him out to dry again.
