Karamoko Dembele and Ewan Henderson are in contention to face Hearts on trophy day.

Both teenagers have been training with the first team squad in recent weeks and starred in the dramatic Glasgow Cup Final win for Celtic’s u-20 side.

A number of first team regulars, including Kieran Tierney and James Forrest, will be rested on Sunday with Neil Lennon ready to call in at least two of his reserve squad to face Hearts.

Dembele’s progress has been monitored closely on social media with the biggest clubs in Europe following his progress closely.

The winger made his Development League debut against Hearts as a 13 year-old and is likely to make his first team bow against the same club.

“He is a possibility for Sunday,” Lennon admitted. “He’s training with the squad this week, as is Ewan Henderson. We’ve got boys that are carrying knocks and we don’t feel the need to risk them ahead of the cup final.”

Dembele signed a two year contract just before Christmas which kicked in when he turned 16 in February.

Jack Aitchison was the last 16-year-old to play for Celtic, scoring with his first touch of the ball against Motherwell in 2016.
