James Forrest is confident of being fit for the Scottish Cup Final and hasn’t ruled himself out of Sunday’s dress rehearsal against Hearts.

The winger has been in outstanding form all season as one of the driving forces behind Celtic’s Treble Treble bid.

Forrest missed Sunday’s Glasgow derby at Ibrox due to a slight hamstring injury but is confident of being back in his usual place at Hampden a week on Saturday.

I’ve not really spoken to the medical staff yet but I should be fine for the Final,” he told the Daily Record.

It’s still early and I’m taking it day by day. We have the final Premiership game against Hearts on Sunday, so I’m not ruling out being involved in that.”

Forrest’s all round play and goal threat has been one of the features of the season with the winger unaffected by the transition from Brendan Rodgers to Neil Lennon.

A four goal haul against St Johnstone in the autumn set Celtic up for their biggest win of the season, more recently he scored the decider in the March Glasgow derby followed by the opener in the Scottish Cup semi-final against Aberdeen.

In September Forrest signed a new contract keeping him at Celtic until 2022.
