Karamoko Dembele is on course for a place on the Celtic bench at Hampden on Saturday.

The 16-year-old had a dramatic debut against Hearts on Sunday, showing the skills that have made him a huge hit on social media as well as the game awareness to be a team player.

Celtic have got a couple of injury concerns for Saturday’s clash with a fit and ready Dembele on the bench clearly an option for Neil Lennon.

Asked if the teenager would be involved in the Hampden squad the hoops boss told Celtic TV:

Very much so, he’s training this week, he’s fit, he’s available. He has certainly put himself forward for selection for the squad.

I said after the game that his football instincts, his intelligence was of a very high order. To come in at 16, to have a 45 minute debut like that is pretty spectacular. He’s very mature, I have had no hesitation about bringing him into the squad this week

He’s had a good season in the Development Team, I think that all of the first team players are aware of his capabilities as well.

Lennon has got two more days to assess his squad and decide what is required to see off Hearts and claim a Treble Treble.

With a double against Hearts in the final SPFL fixture Mikey Johnston has certainly played himself into contention.

The Celtic side won’t be announced until 1.45pm on Saturday but as soon as it is all eyes will be looking to see if the talented 16-year-old is in line for a dramatic end to his season.
