Garry Parker is on his way back to Celtic as part of Neil Lennon’s backroom team.

The former Leicester City and Nottingham Forrest midfielder worked alongside Lennon at Celtic, Bolton and Hibs and was recently pictured with his former team-mate watching West Brom against Aston Villa in the EPL play-offs.

According to the Daily Record:

Neil Lennon is lining up a Celtic reunion with long time right-hand man Garry Parker.

Record Sport understands Lennon has been keen to beef up his backroom team ever since he agreed to return to the club as caretaker boss following the departure of Brendan Rodgers.

Lennon steered the champions to an eighth successive title and a Scottish Cup win to seal the treble Treble alongside coaches John Kennedy and Damien Duff.

But he is still hopeful of bringing his own man on board now he has been offered the role on a permanent basis.

Lennon is expected to return from a short break in Spain today to complete the formalities on his Celtic contract.

With the first match of pre-season on June 26 it’s likely that he will get down to work straight away with a number of contract issues to be resolved with defensive a priority.

Criatian Gamboa and Emilio Izaguirre have been absent over the last fortnight and aren’t expected to return while Mikael Lustig is out of contract. Filip Benkovic has returned to Leicester while Dedryck Boyata has joined Hertha Berlin.

On June 18 the draw will be made for the first two rounds of the Champions League with the first leg of the first round being played on July 9/10.
