Betfair and Paddy Power have slashed the odds on Marcelo Bielsa becoming the next Celtic boss in the wake of Leeds United losing out to Derby County in the EPL play-offs.

Those two firms have priced the Argentinian at 16/1 and 12/1 to become the next Celtic manager while Sky Bet continue to offer odds of 50/1.

Bielsa is regarded as something of a coaching guru having worked extensively in Europe and South America including stints in charge of Lazio, Marseille and Athletic Bilbao as well as the Argentine and Chilean international squads.

Pep Guardiola is one of many coaches that have credited Bielsa with influencing the attacking tactics that he uses.

It was viewed as a bold and very much left field move by Leeds to appoint Bielsa in the summer with an Oor Wullie style bucket next to the dug out and all media work completed through an interpreter.

Leeds got off to a flying start to the season but lost their way then faltered in the final weeks as Sheffield United pipped them to promotion.

After winning 1-0 away to Derby they took the lead at home last night before losing 4-2 on the night.

His future in Yorkshire is now in doubt with his biggest contribution to the season likely to be the ‘Spygate’ revelations when he produced documents explaining how he sent coaches to watch opponents in training before facing Leeds.

Over the last week there has been significant price reductions on the odds of Rafa Benitez, Chris Hughton and Slaven Bilic becoming the next Celtic manager, Benitez is the current favourite ahead of Neil Lennon.
