An unexpected former EPL manager made an appearance at Celtic Park today.

Alan Pardew has been out of management for over a year since leaving West Brom on the brink of relegation from the EPL.

In 21 matches in charge at the Hawthorns Pardew had a record of W3, D5 and L15.

During the course of the last week half a dozen manager have been strongly linked with the Celtic job ranging from Claudio Ranienri and Slavan Bilic through to Sean Dyche.

Rafa Benitez is the current bookies favourite for the job but there will be at least another week of speculation ahead before any announcement is made.

A decade ago Pardew did have a strong reputation in the game while in charge of Newcastle where he was given an eight year contract but left halfway through that deal.

On his return to Crystal Palace he took the Londoners to FA Cup Final where they lost 2-1 to Manchester United after taking the lead.

Seven months later Palace sacked Pardew with little sign that he is about to return to top flight management.
