Picture: Slow Progress as Battered Christie Moves On To Solid Foods

More than two weeks after being on the receiving end of a late challenge from Dom Ball, Ryan Christie has moved on to eating solid foods.

The Celtic midfielder needed surgery for multiple facial fractures after the sickening clash that left him flat out on the turf at Hampden requiring six minutes of treatment.

Christie later published a picture of his battered face with his left eye closed over that shocked supporters who had witnessed the clash.

Initial hopes that the former Aberdeen man would be able to play again this season were dispelled ahead of surgery with healing a slow process due to the extensive damage.

Celtic face Aberdeen at Pittodrie tomorrow looking for a single point to claim the SPFL title with Christie playing a supporting role from the sidelines.

Kieran Tierney could return to the side after missing the last two matches with Neil Lennon confirming that the defender will require surgery on a double hernia at the end of the season.
