Callum McGregor and James Forrest are in the running for this season’s PFA Scotland Player of the Year Award alongside Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent.
The divide in the voting probably represents the split in playing ranks with the final vote likely to be very close with the winner presented at Sunday’s annual dinner in Glasgow.
With three domestic red cards to his name and as many near misses it’s unlikely that Morelos will take the top award with Ibrox supporting players more likely to vote for Kent. At today’s media event for the award Morelos was the only player that refused to be interviewed.
Forrest and McGregor have been the driving forces behind Celtic’s treble bid with both players outstanding in the autumn when the hoops hit top form with Forrest also bagging five crucial goals for Scotland.
In recent weeks Celtic’s form has dipped but with the winning goal in the March Glasgow derby Forrest perhaps scored the single most significant goal of the season.
Whatever the outcome of the PFA award the Celtic duo will be hoping for a weekend of celebration with one point required from Aberdeen on Saturday to clinch the SPFL title for the eighth season running.

Missing 10 games says it all. Should never have been considered.

Absolute joke that Kent is in there & Morelos. @gary_dicker @AlanPower8 @Burkeman710 all deserve a place before them & that’s just the players from Killie

Wow even as a Rangers fan I’m a bit surprised Kent is up for the main award
