Despite reports from Italy that he has agreed a new deal with Newcastle, Rafa Benitez remains the bookies favourite to become the next permanent manager of Celtic.

The Spaniard is generally priced at 7/4 to get the hoops job although SPFL sponsors Ladbrokes have him out at 3/1.

Neil Lennon is a shade behind Benitez, generally priced at 9/4 although Ladbrokes seem to be in on something with the current caretaker their favourite for the job at 7/4.

The bookies are covering all bases with Davie Moyes and Andre Villas Boas rated at 5/1 shots although Betfair and Paddy Power have the former Chelsea and Spurs boss priced at 9/1.

Celtic haven’t made a single comment on the manager’s job since Lennon was appointed caretaker at the end of February with the Irishman asked almost on a weekly basis about speculation.

Highlighting the range of odds available you can have 20/1 on Steve Clarke from William Hill while Betfair and Paddy Power offer a more realistic 150/1 on the new Scotland boss taking charge of Celtic.
