Chris Sutton wants to see Celtic given a guard of honour next week at Ibrox.

Neil Lennon’s side beat Aberdeen 3-0 today at Pittodrie to clinch the SPFL title by going 12 points clear with three matches left to be played by their nearest challengers.

Footballing convention sees the champions applauded onto the pitch in their first fixture after clinching the title with clubs in the lower divisions also complying with that unofficial rule.

With proper sportsmen like Steven Gerrard and James Tavernier involved at Ibrox all eyes will be on next Sunday’s fixture to see the champions applauded onto the pitch.

After winning the March Glasgow derby to go 13 points clear it only seemed to be a matter of time before Celtic were crowned as champions.

Despite two goal-less draws in their subsequent fixtures wins over Kilmarnock and Aberdeen clinched the title with the trophy presentation taking place at home to Hearts on May 19.
