Chris Sutton has praised Hearts for announcing that their players will give Celtic a Guard of Honour ahead of Sunday’s match.

The BT Sport pundit was first to suggest a Guard of Honour for the champions at Ibrox but after discussions with his board of directors Steven Gerrard rejected the proposal.

There is no love lost between Celtic and Hearts fans with clashes between the two clubs among the most lively in the fixture card.

In 2011 Neil Lennon was attacked by a fan on the touchline at Tynecastle, earlier this season as Hibs boss he was struck by a coin thrown from the Main Stand at the same venue.

After their promising start to the campaign this season has turned in to one to forget for Craig Levein’s side held together by a run to the Scottish Cup Final in which they haven’t faced a team from the top flight.

Like Celtic, injuries and cup final preparations mean that Hearts will probably field a shadow team on Sunday.
