Neil Lennon answers the Scott Brown rumours

|

Neil Lennon has brushed aside fitness fears about Scott Brown.

The hoops skipper was posted missing when the media was invited in to film Celtic in training this morning with Brown absent from the final SPFL match of the season at home to Hearts.

Brown suffered a broken toe a fortnight ago when Celtic clinched the title by winning at Aberdeen with his presence making a massive contribution to Celtic’s prospects of lifting the Scottish Cup.

Browny is great, he trained really well yesterday. He came through the session with flying colours so we have no issues with Scott at all.

Asked about Kieran and James he added:

They all trained yesterday as well, at the minute they are strong but we’ll have to assess them over the next couple of days as well.

Since taking over from Brendan Rodgers, Lennon has had an ongoing battle with a lengthy injury list.

Ryan Christie and Dedryck Boyata are both ruled out through injury while Leigh Griffiths hasn’t played since the start of December.

Lennon has had to prepare the squad for Hampden against constant speculation that Saturday will be his last match in charge.

Rumours about Rafa Benitez or Davie Moyes being introduced as manager on Monday have been rife across social media but the caretaker boss has kept his concentration on beating Hearts to complete a third consecutive treble.
