Scott Brown has admitted that he’ll be sad to see Mikael Lustig leave Celtic.
The defender is believed to be in Belgium at the moment, undergoing a medical before signing up for KAA Gent.
Lustig has been deputy captain to Brown for a couple of years and accompanied the midfielder up the stairs at Hampden to collect the Scottish Cup last month in what now looks certain to have been his last Celtic appearance.
Scott Brown on Mikael Lustig:
“We all love him in the dressing room and the fans love him as well. I think the last season has probably been the best football I’ve seen him play.
“It would be sad if goes but here’s hoping him and the club can come to some sort of agreement”. pic.twitter.com/9pz3XHyZoS

The departure of the Swede means that Brown and James Forrest are the only survivors from the squad that lifted the SPL title in 2012 kicking off the current run of domination.
With Jeremy Toljan and Cristian Gamboa also moving on Tony Ralston is the only right back at the club. Last season Lewis Bell and Wallace Duffy played at right back in the Reserve League but both players were released.
Celtic’s first competitive match of the season is on July 9 or 10 with the draw for the first qualifying round of the Champions League being made tomorrow.
