Liam Morrison will fly out to Austria tomorrow with the Celtic first team squad despite speculation that he is a transfer target for Hoffenheim and Bayern Munich.

Back in April The Sun revealed that the central defender was wanted by Hoffenheim who could sign him on a cut price development deal.

Morrison has come through the ranks of the Celtic Academy and is a fixture in Scotland youth sides.

Without committing himself to a professional contract he is keeping his options open with Neil Lennon looking to convince him that Celtic is the best place to advance his career, according to a Video Celts source.

The departures of Filip Benkovic and Dedryck Boyata has left Celtic short on numbers in central defence with Morrison likely to get some game time against Pinkafeld (Wednesday) and Wiener (Saturday) as Celtic step up their pre-season preparations.

Kris Ajer will meet up with the squad this week, at Lennoxtown Jozo Simunovic and Jack Hendry were the only central defenders with first team experience.

American duo Manny Perez and Andrew Gutman will also be part of the Celtic squad.
