With Kieran Tierney apparently on the brink of signing for Arsenal Celtic have been linked with a move for Max Lowe as his successor at left-back!
The Derby defender spent last season on loan at Aberdeen last season and is believed to be wanted back at Pittodrie with Steven Gerrard also credited with an interest.
Now according to the Daily Record Celtic are also looking to sign Lowe:
Manager Neil Lennon has a number of left-back options if Tierney goes and Record Sport understands an inquiry has been made over the availability of Lowe on a short-term or permanent basis.
The 22-year-old made a huge impact on loan at Aberdeen last term having been farmed out by Rams gaffer Frank Lampard.
Lowe is under contract with Derby until 2021 having spent a brief time on loan at Shrewsbury before joining Aberdeen.
Tierney is under contract with Celtic until 2023 with absolutely no indication that he is looking to move elsewhere.
That hasn’t stopped a weekend of intense speculation that he would jump at the chance to join Arsenal if they raise their initial £15m bid towards £25m.
After taking to Twitter in response to speculation surrounding the David Turnbull deal Celtic have set a precedent. Until Neil Lennon dismisses the prospect of Tierney being sold the door is open to speculation that Celtic are prepared to sell if the price is right.
The Arsenal wage bill is horrifying, no wonder they are a shambles and years away from winning anything worthwhile #mindthegaphttps://t.co/SVaYk1Bsp3
