Liam Kelly has activated the release clause in his Livingston contract.
The keeper signed a two year deal with the West Lothian club last summer but has agent inserted a £50,000 get out clause for halfway through the contract.
Celtic were linked with Kelly last month but that may simply have been used to explain that he had a release clause.
Today The Sun reveals:
LIAM KELLY has triggered a release clause in his contract to allow him to leave Livingston.
The former Rangers keeper has plenty of admirers including Celtic following a stunning season in the Premiership.
A number of clubs in the English Championship are also keen on the 23-year-old.
Celtic have a difficult situation with goalkeepers, at 36-years-old Craig Gordon may be looking for regular playing time next season while Conor Hazard and Ross Doohan both had successful loan spells in The Championship last season.
Kelly is one of four keepers in the Scotland squad for the June internationals and although Stevie Woods isn’t involved for these matches he did work with Kelly at the last international break.
Having worked his way into the Scotland squad the former Ibrox keeper will be looking to be a first choice next season which is unlikely to be at Celtic where Scott Bain appears to have a firm grip on the position.
In three matches against Celtic last season Kelly kept two clean sheets.
