The Express has come up with the most predictable transfer story of the season- and the nightmare for every Celtic fan.

Brendan Rodgers’ decision to move to Leicester in February was met with shock turning to anger that has barely settled despite Celtic’s treble success.

The promise of a sizeable transfer budget was one of the attractions of moving to Leicester with those funds likely to be boosted during the summer with strong speculation linking Harry Maguire, James Middleton and Ben Chillwell away from the club.

Selling those three players would bring in around £200m with The Express in little doubt about where Rodgers would look for replacements.

Express Sport understands Rodgers is a big admirer of both left-back Kieran Tierney and attacking midfielder Callum McGregor and could make moves for the pair.

Rodgers has a habit of returning to sign players that he had previously worked with, in his first transfer window at Celtic he was reunited with Scott Sinclair, Kolo Toure and Dorus de Vries.

McGregor and Tierney are both on long term contracts and fully committed to Celtic but the club would struggle to resist offers over £20m for either Academy player.

Last summer Moussa Dembele became the most expensive player sold by Celtic when he joined Lyon for £20m in the final week of the transfer window.
