Ryan Christie looked fit and well as he returned to training at Lennoxtown this morning.

The midfielder’s recent social media pictures have highlighted the multiple facial fractures that he suffered in the Scottish Cup semi-final win over Aberdeen but two months on he looks back to his best.

There were no new faces joining Neil Lennon for training with speculation about David Turnbull’s possible move still to be resolved.

It was a shadow squad that reported to Lennoxtown with the international players given an extra week after being involved in European Championship ties until last Tuesday.

With the loan players returned and Mikael Lustig, Cristian Gamboa and Emilio Izaguirre out of contract there wasn’t the usual volume of players reporting today. Additionally reserve team players such as Regan Hendry and Wallace Duffy were also released at the end of their contracts.

Tomorrow Celtic will find out their first round opponents in the Champions League, on June 26 they will play their first pre-season match in Austria against lower league side Pinkfeld.
