European reports of Celtic keen on midfielder

|

Celtic have been linked with a move for Mark Diemers.

The midfielder enjoyed an impressive season in midfield for Fortuna Sittard and is expected to move on this summer.

At the age of 25 with two years left on his contract Sittard can expect to get a premium fee for the player that they signed from De Graafschap last summer.

Belgian website Walfoot reports:

Mark Diemers has scored seven goals and issued as many assists this season in Eredivisie. The Dutch midfielder is attracting the convoistises and should not stay at Fortuna Sittard next season. The player would also like to take a step in his career.

The 25-year-old midfielder would be in the sights of many clubs, Freiburg, Celtic Glasgow , several Eredivisie clubs and La Gantoise , as reported by various Dutch media.

Despite appearing to be well covered for midfielders with Scott Brown, Tom Rogic, Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor around with Ewan Henderson and Nir Bitton as back up it seems that Celtic are looking at signing at least one midfielder.

There are a number of reports around suggesting that Olivier Ntcham could be moving on with an offer for Motherwell’s David Turnbull rejected last week.

Celtic report for pre-season training a week today before heading over to Austria where their first match is on June 26 against Pinkfeld.
