Celtic and Toulouse have agreed an 8 million euro deal for Christopher Jullien.
After losing Filip Benkovic and Dedryck Boyata at the end of last season bringing in fresh central defenders was a transfer priority for Neil Lennon.
At the weekend The Sun claimed that Celtic had had a £5m bid for Scott McKenna rejected by Aberdeen but last night there seemed to be a breakthrough in negotiations with Toulouse.

Both clubs reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of the central defender. The amount of the transaction is estimated at 8 million euros.
Toulouse will have a significant financial area, made possible by the forthcoming transfer of Christopher Jullien. In negotiations for several days, Toulouse and Celtic Glasgow have reached an agreement in principle in recent hours around an amount valued at 8 million euros.
He exchanged several times with the leaders and the staff. A contractual agreement was found on a long-term contract. A medical visit could be scheduled quickly.

Kris Ajer only resumed training on Monday leaving Jozo Simunovic and Jack Hendry as the only experienced central defenders available to Lennon with Stephen Welsh and Liam Morrison as back up.
Jullien has two years left to run on his contract with Toulouse looking to cash in now rather than lose the defender for a lesser fee in the final year of his deal.
