Lewis Morgan will return to Celtic with renewed hope of making the big breakthrough.

The winger started just one match, away to RB Leipzig in the Europa League, alongside a dozen substitute appearances before joining Sunderland on loan in January.

Hibs were one of a number of clubs that asked about taking Morgan out on loan in January with the man behind that request now in charge at Celtic Park.

Speaking to The Sun he said:

Neil Lennon gave my agent a ring.  It’s been quite a quick turnover for him and I’m sure he has been busy.

The club have done really well, getting the treble Treble. That’s unprecedented. Now I’m looking forward to going back in and working with him.

The aim is to play. That always has to be the aim. Being part of things week in and week out is what you want to do. If you can get into that Celtic team hopefully you  can be part of things with Scotland as well.

Morgan started 15 games at Sunderland with their campaign ending in the misery of losing out to Charlton in the play-off for a place in The Championship.

Getting through the summer months without injury will be crucial if Morgan is to get a run in the side, last season after being injured in the opening match away to Alashkert he had to wait until September 23 away to Kilmarnock for his next outing.

Since Morgan moved to Sunderland Celtic’s wing options have been increased with the arrival of Maryan Shved while Scott Sinclair has had his deal extended by 12 months.
