Report: Turnbull confident that Celtic deal will go through

Transfer

David Turnbull is still confident of becoming a Celtic player.

Five days after being pictured in a Celtic short word emerged tonight that there was a problem with his medical.

The extent of the issue will determine if or how the deal goes forward with Motherwell announcing 20 days ago that they had come to an agreement with Celtic.

The Sun reports:

Talks between both clubs and the player’s representatives are ongoing as all parties aim to find a solution that’s in Turnbull’s best interest.

The 19-year-old agreed terms with Celtic on Friday and had expected the deal to be finalised. But five days on, the transfer has now been thrown into doubt.

However, it’s understood Turnbull still expects to become Neil Lennon’s first summer signing.

Neither club has commented on tonight’s development with talks and possibly a further medical likely to determine the extent of the injury concern.

Insurance considerations will be prominent in negotiations between the two clubs with Motherwell having a major issue on their hands if the player returns to Fir Park.

Had Motherwell kept quiet about agreeing the fee with Celtic the whole matter could be resolved in private but over the last three weeks every detail has been played out in public.
