Scott Brown has no regrets about turning down a sunshine move to Australia.

During the January break there was strong reports linking him with a move to the A-League with talks about a two or three year contract.

It would have seemed like an ideal move for many, especially on a drizzly summer’s day at Lennoxtown but the Celtic skipper has no regrets about sticking around for another treble with a two year extension added to his contract.

Well I went to Greece for six days and I sat in the shade. Probably wouldn’t have been the best idea to go to a place where it can get to about 40 degrees. I think personally, for my skin, I made the best decision of my life!

Possibly, the best decision of my life for football as well, winning another treble at a fantastic club that I’ve grown to love over the years.

Brown finished last season, three weeks ago, lifting the Scottish Cup at Hampden as Celtic completed the Treble Treble- the only captain in the history of the Scottish game to have led his side to nine domestic trophies in succession.

Next week the new campaign kicks off with three friendlies in Austria and Switzerland as Celtic prepare for what they hope will be four successful rounds of Champions League qualifiers.

Earlier today UEFA split the draw into sections with Celtic seeded to face one club from Sarajevo (Bosnia), Sutjeska (Montenegro), Partizani (Albania), Saburtalo (Georgia) or Valetta (Malta).
