Chris Sutton believes that Celtic have a £50m benchmark to price Kieran Tierney against.
At lunchtime today news emerged that Manchester United had agreed a £50m fee for Wan Bissaka on the back of one season for Crystal Palace in the EPL. Tierney has played one less European matches than the 21-year-old has in the EPL and has captained Scotland. After scoring an own goal for France the Palace defender was dropped from the England u-21 side that lost to Romania and drew 3-3 with Croatia.
Not so long ago John Stones went for £50 million and Celtic sold Virgil Van Dijk for £13 million… Wan Bissaka £50 million to United…Let’s hope if Celtic do sell Kieran Tierney they get a similar fee as he is every bit as good..

On any comparison Tierney has a far stronger pedigree with four seasons experience of the pressures involved at Celtic.
There has been no comment from Celtic or Arsenal but it seems to be generally accepted that a bid of £18m has been turned down but that talks would get serious once £25m was put on the table.
Tierney is still recovering from a double hernia operation at the end of the season and will sit out tonight’s pre-season friendly against SC Pinkafeld.
After that match Neil Lennon is likely to be asked about speculation liking his first choice left-back with Arsenal.
