Turnbull transfer takes new twist

|

Alan Nixon has suggested that David Turnbull could be a Celtic player within a week.

The Scottish journalist is based in the north-west of England where he has strong connections with a number of leading agents.

As a freelance his stories are in demand across The Sun and Mirror stable with over 80,000 followers on twitter.

The Turnbull saga has taken a number of twists since Motherwell decided to announce on Wednesday evening that they had accepted an offer from Celtic for the midfielder.

No news followed on Thursday however soon after the Daily Record claimed that the players’ agents were touting for interest in England Celtic took to twitter to blame the agent for declining a magnificent offer.

To date it seems that Sheffield Wednesday are the only club to show real interest in Turnbull but whether they are prepared to match Celtic’s offer to Motherwell is another matter.

Celtic return to training tomorrow without any new signings, on Tuesday they will find out their opponents for the first qualifying round of the Champions League with the first leg due to take place on July 9 or 10.
