Two major European sides linked with 23-year-old Celtic midfielder

|

Porto are ready to join Marseilles in the race to sign Olivier Ntcham.

The midfielder added a year to his Celtic contract last season but there seems to be a drip feed of news that the 23-year-old will be sold in the summer.

After the transfer window closed last August news of Porto first emerged with Ntcham failing to recapture the form he enjoyed in his first season during the campaign just finished.

The Record reports:

Record Sport can reveal the Portuguese big guns sent a scout to run the rule over the midfielder while he was playing for France Under-21s against Belgium on Monday night.

Ntcham is in the French squad to play in the u-21 European Championships at the end of this month and will miss out on Celtic’s pre-season matches in Austria and Switzerland.

Celtic paid Manchester City a fee of £4.5m to sign the midfielder in July 2017 which matched the decade long record transfer fee that was paid to bring Scott Brown from Hibs.

Ntcham suffered two hamstring strains in the season just ended and was left on the substitute bench through the closing stages with Callum McGregor nailing down a place in midfield alongside Scott Brown.
