The SFA has called in Steven McLean to explain the changes to the handball rule that have been implemented.

After barely a week since the change there has been controversy over penalties given to Liverpool and England with more certain to follow.

Despite being dumped off the FIFA list McLean retains a training role with the SFA, last week he was explaining the new ruling as the SFA put coaches through their A-licence..

Whatever he achieves in his career McLean will be forever remembered for the Celtic v Inverness Caley Thistle Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden.

With Celtic leading by a goal a net-bound header from Leigh Griffiths was punched clear by Josh Meekings in the six yard box.

Amazing McLean and his additional assistant Alan Muir both failed to take any action with Inverness going on to win the match 3-2 and beat Falkirk in the final. The following season McLean refereed the Scottish Cup Final.
