‘We go again’ Celtic star ready for restart despite speculation

Scott Sinclair has contradicted speculation that he could be leaving Celtic.

The hoops took up the one year option in his contract despite the former Aston Villa man slipping down the pecking order under Neil Lennon.

Sinclair was one of Brendan Rodgers’ first signings in August 2016, after scoring the winning goal on his debut at Tynecastle he became one of the main forces in the Invincible season.

Despite failing to maintain the standards of that first season the 30-year-old has played in more games and scored more goals than anyone else during Celtic’s three treble winning campaigns.

Sinclair and his team-mates return for pre-season training a week today, on June 18 they will discover their first round opponents in the Champions League qualifier.

Celtic’s first pre-season match is away to Pinkfeld of Austria on June 26 with the first competitive game on July 9 or 10.

Chris Sutton speculates on who could be leaving Celtic.
