Celtic Colts have been drawn to face Queens Park in the first round with Falkirk awaiting Tommy McIntyre’s side in the second round of the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup if the young hoops survive at Hampden.

It’s the fourth year running that Celtic have taken part in the competition which was previously known as the Petrofac Cup.

Today’s draw took place at the Tunnock’s factory in Uddingston with Neil Doncaster the master of ceremonies.

In each of the last three seasons Celtic have been drawn against Annan Athletic, winning at home (Cappielow) in 2016 but losing away in the last two seasons.

It’s unclear whether Celtic will play in the Reserve League next season with Aberdeen, Hibs and St Johnstone announcing that they won’t take part.

Last season’s 17 match campaign proved highly unsatisfactory even though the squad also had a Reserve League Cup and the Glasgow Cup to provide additional fixtures.
