Brilliant Celtic video as fans search New York City on Independence Day for the challenge from Ibrox

It’s origins aren’t quite clear but it’s a phrase that brings a smile to the face of every Celtic supporter.

Was it Joey Barton in the glorious Warbo summer of 2016 or perhaps one of the Lee’s, Wallace or McCulloch back in the Armageddon Summer of 2012 that first made us smile at the great delusion?

The Rangers are coming! It’s a job to type out that phrase without breaking into a smile. Try it.

Now and then a video crops up with the phrase but this one is pretty special.

The New York City skyline is pretty impressive, much like the drive down the A725 from East Kilbride when your eyes automatically focus on that patch of green that we are forever drawn towards.

Tourists from across the globe look out across the panorama picking out the landmarks and soaking up the history.

For one Celtic fan the search took on extra significance as he tried to locate, Tav, El Buffalo, Greegsy and the Seven New Recruits, not to be confused with the film stars alongside Snow White.

This summer the chat has been as predictable as ever, Celtic spending £10m in under a week has put a brake on some of the claims but a resounding win on Sunday against Oxford United followed by a win away to St Joseph’s in the Europa League should see the campaign to remind us who is coming, back stronger than ever.
