Andy Robertson has refused to join in the campaign to take Kieran Tierney to Arsenal.

Sky Sports have taken a lead role with weekly updates from their sources about how the move is close to completion but despite a month of speculation the defender remains a Celtic player.

Liverpool were in Scotland yesterday to play a friendly against Napoli which provided plenty of talking points.

A 3-0 defeat a week before playing against Manchester City in the Community Shield wasn’t the sort of result Liverpool fans were hoping for but it seems that the most relevant question for Robertson was to get his thoughts on a player in a different country joining another English club.

Robertson saw the line of questioning coming from a mile away, diplomatically he said: “He’s a Celtic bhoy through and through, good luck to him whatever he does.”

With a lucrative contract running until 2023 Tierney is already financially secure for life with Celtic in the driving seat over transfer negotiations.

Champions League football looks increasingly unlikely for Arsenal who seem to be concentrating their transfer activity in the French market with Crystal Palace instantly rejecting a £40m bid forWilfried Zaha. Celtic have turned down two bids from Arsenal for Tierney.
