Vakoun Bayo could be available for Celtic’s second leg Champions League qualifier against FK Sarajevo on July 17.

The striker scored in last Saturday’s 2-1 win over SC Wiener but missed out on Tuesday’s matches against St Gallen due to a hamstring concern.

After returning to Scotland Bayo had an MRI scan on the injury which dispelled any fears that he would be out for a sustained spell.

The Sun reports:

After missing the final two months of last season with a ruptured hamstring, there were fears of a lengthy lay-off again. But Bayo was scanned on Thursday and is expected to be back by mid-July. Celtic won’t take any risks with the £2million January signing who impressed in pre-season.

Bayo was the only player to pick up an injury during the three match training trip to Austria and Switzerland but Neil Lennon will be anxious to catch up with the fitness of Tom Rogic and Kieran Tierney.

The Australian was left behind at Lennoxtown to work on his fitness while Tierney returned from Austria after five days working on his own following his double hernia.

Olivier Ntcham has still to rejoin training after being involved with France at the u-21 European Championships until June 27.
